What We’'re Doing

Evangelical Seminary of West Africa (ESWA)

9/10/2020

Picture
The Evangelical Seminary of West Africa seeks to glorify Christ by producing Godly servant-leaders for West Africa; to serve the church, transform the world, and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

CORE VALUES
1.  Relevance and Excellence: a missional approach to faith and theology that is solution driven.
2.  Spirituality and Integrity: a missional approach to faith and theology that is above reproach.
3.  Christ-Centered Leadership: leadership that integrates deep personal holiness and humility with a strong conviction to obey God’s will, not fearing the cost.
4.  Creativity in Community: team leaders, not lone rangers, who seek innovative and Biblical solutions for the community.

ESWA’s Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program is a professional graduate degree designed to equip called Christian ministers such as pastors, denominational leaders, instructors in Bible colleges/seminaries, or principals of secondary schools.

EMAUSA Supports ESWA’s  “Light of the Word” radio program on ELWA radio.

ESWA current goals and needs:
  1. Renovating the Pavilion which will give us the needed classroom space our student body of about 50.  Needed:  $25,000.
  2. Purchase and enclosure of three plots of land. We do not yet know the price of the land. The wall will cost about $50,000 secure the entire compound.
  3. Support for a new faculty member
  4. Renovation of the duplex. This is so needed as both ESWA and ECOL headquarters are accommodated on the property.
  5. Repair of the road to the seminary. We did a bit of work to put rocks in some places but there is still major work to be done.
  6. Purchase of a seminary vehicle. Currently the seminary is using a car and a motorcycle belonging to a staff members. Needed:  $20,000 to get a reliable vehicle.
  7. More books for the library and computers for students. The cost of shipping books is challenging but we do need to build the collection. All students need computers and as of now only about 2/3rds of the students have their own. The use of the computer lab has been less than hoped but it is understood because students do much of their work at home
