Committed to Serving ELWA Ministries

Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA) was founded in 1953 as Africa's first Christian Radio Station.  Through the years, the ministries have grown to include ELWA Hospital and Clinic, ELWA Academy and many other outreach ministries.  After fourteen years of civil war and a devastating Ebola epidemic, work is commencing on a new radio studio, and hospital.  ELWA Ministries Association USA is committed to serving the ministries of ELWA and the surrounding communities.

Playing a Part in Recovery
Cut down as dead, but still has nourishment from roots that were not cut! ELWA and its radio, education, medical ministries are recovering from the devastation of the past 20 years, and is again becoming a beacon for the Gospel in Liberia and beyond.  EMAUSA is privileged play a small role.
Responding to the Ebola Crisis
Ebola has affected the food supply, through the cancelled planting season, death of bread winners or high unemployment. We are partnering with Feed My Starving Children to provide highly nutritious food to thousands of undernourished children and adults, shipping and distributing nearly 600,000 healthy meals to orphans, Youth For Christ, youth organizations, and to some of the poorest communities in Liberia through our partner ECOL (Evangelical Church of Liberia).
Providing Scholarships
Schools reopen in March of 2015 after being closed for 6 months because of Ebola, but many families could not afford to send their children to school.  EMAUSA provides 55 scholarships, primarily to ELWA Academy students.  In addition, we have committed, in faith, to providing one year of full tuition support to 400 ECOL students who would not otherwise attend any school.
Orphanage and School Support
EMAUSA supports Susie Guenter Orphanage (32 children) and Jahzjet school (250 children from the community) with ongoing repair and building projects, and Feed My Starving Children meals.   The Liberian Government has given the staff six months to install six new toilets and a proper waste control system to keep the school and orphanage open.
Strengthening ELWA Radio & Hospital
ELWA Radio and Hospital has had serious infrastructure needs to continue their ministries.  This last year we replaced the main generator for the ELWA compound, and have been instrumental in installing a critical new water pump and filtration and sewer system.
